G is for Game Over

In the “How To” link above, I talk a lot about the utility of simulation as a training tool. But don’t confuse your Xbox/PlayStation skills for real driving experience. Even if you’re training with proper hardware and software, there are some things that have to be experienced authentically. If it’s your first time on an unfamiliar track or in an unfamiliar car, be really careful. And if it’s your very first time on track, drive as slowly as you would on the street. The worst thing you could do is wreck your car on the first lap.

I take that back. The worst thing you could do is wreck someone else’s car on the first lap (like the dude in the video).
